Kinder Morgan is the largest energy infrastructure company in North America - owning an interest in or operating approximately 80,000 miles of pipelines and 180 terminals. Their pipelines transport natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. They also store or handle a variety of products and materials at their terminals such as gasoline, jet fuel, ethanol, coal, petroleum coke and steel.
Ventilation Issues:
An exhaust system requiring filtration was needed in an area of the plant that coats petroleum coke conveyors that are manufactured at the plant. We had installed a ventilation system in the manufacturing area of the plant several years ago and this was the second project at this facility.
Solution:
It was determined that two 60” exhaust fans with explosion-proof motors and Merv 8 filters would be the best option. We designed a structural steel support for the equipment to be mounted in the exterior wall of the building and the filters were arranged for ease of access when replacement was required. This was a turnkey project with Kinder Morgan’s own team completing the electrical portion of the work.
Results:
The customer is pleased with the operation of the new system and its performance.
